Interview
We will send candidates as they show interest in the job. You will get a bio of the candidate to get a bit of a gauge of who they are. You set up interviews directly with the candidate and let me know how things go! We suggest reaching out ASAP to candidates via text as some candidates are interviewing with multiple families.
Hire
Make a direct offer to the nanny you think is best for you and your family. We have resources for contract templates or payment solutions. Feel free to reach out with questions or if there are other ways we can support you.
Finders Fee
After you have hired your sitter, you will pay the finders fee. The finders fee is ‘pay what you want’ with minimums but no maximums. as in, no more super high fees for finding a nanny! You choose the value of the service within the ranges below. This is due by the end of the first week the nanny starts. For an idea of what that has looked like,
MOST FAMILIES PAY ONE WEEKS PAY HOWEVER, you choose. Please remember, I do spend a lot of time interviewing and checking references and sending candidates over so keep that in mind when you pay.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS
1) Outreach: Please text candidates ASAP to set up interviews. Usually candidates are interviewing with 4-6 other jobs and some are being hired incredibly fast. We highly suggest being assertive and trying to set up calls promptly to avoid missing candidates. If you have not heard back from a nanny, try texting again, occasionally people miss emails and they usually will respond to the follow up. Please make sure you tell them who you are, your job and mention me. Here is a suggested outreach text
“Hi, my name is (insert your name), Maddy Gawler from Piocare gave me your contact and said you were interested in our role with (insert number of kids) ages( insert ages of kids) from (insert times you need) on (insert days you need) in the (insert neighborhood) neighborhood. We would love to set up a time to interview the coming week. Are you free (insert times youd like to speak)?”
2) How to increase interest in your job: For those that have not been having much luck, here are some suggestions
- Pay: Most jobs currently are $25+/hr for one family if you are able to increase payment, that will increase candidate interest
- Hours: Career nannies are looking for more hours, some families have optional household management hours to help with errands, cleaning, meal prep, etc to increase number of candidates. if you are open to more hours, this will help
- Benefits: Those with PTO, sick days, paid federal holidays are being hired fastest. evaluate if you are able to offer those.
4) Pay Expectations.
One family rates: Typically pay is $25-35/hr for recurring nanny jobs for one family if you are working with career nannies. $25-26/hr for 1 kid, $27-28/hr for 2 and $30+ for 3. For students typically they are looking for at least $23-25/hr. We do get some jobs under $23 but bare minimum we see for recurring jobs is $20/hr and its typically nannies with 1-2 years experience.
Share rates are $30-42/hr depending on qualifications of nanny with majority of our families paying $30-36/hr.
5) Gas Reimbursement: Gas reimbursement is expected to be at federal reimbursement rate please check the IRS for current up to date rates. This is expected for jobs requiring driving of the nannies car.
6) Guaranteed Hours: Most nannies need guaranteed hours, this means regardless of if you have a change they need to make a certain wage weekly from you. Please make sure you discuss with your nanny what that is. Its ok to offer more but you are expected to pay them the guaranteed amount weekly.
7) Paid Time Off/Holidays/Sick Days: For jobs that are 10+ hour a week, most nanny advocacy networks in Colorado as well as a lot of nannies are starting to promote PTO and sick days. Especially with COVID, whooping cough, flu seasons, its a good idea to discuss what expectations are around days off. We suggest 5-10 PTO days, federal holidays and 5 sick days. We highly suggest starting to incorporate this into your jobs in the future as the advocacy groups have been pushing this hard in a lot of childcare forums.
8) Payment methods: Some nannies want payroll and some want venmo/check for payment. if you have a preferred method, please ensure you are incorporating that into your job description as well as communicating that with nannies. This information will help ensure we find you someone that best fits your needs.
9) Vetting: As a reminder we interview all candidates and check references for them. Please refer to our website for questions on the process. We have two suggested vendors previous families have used for background checks if you are looking to conduct background checks upon hire. We do highly suggest checking the references yourself as well as you may have specific questions youd like to ask them.
10) Keep me updated
I have auto emails that will send out to you every 6+ days to check in. Please make sure you are alerting me where you are. I usually slow down sending candidates until I’ve heard back on progress. I am here to help you but need to know where you are in the process. Please keep me updated.
